British airport offering flights to holiday hotspots for £95 named ‘best in Europe’ for fourth consecutive year

Many travellers relish the experience of airports, partly because it marks the first step of every journey.

Several factors, like customer service and competitive prices can turn a passenger’s airport experience into a real adventure if carefully considered.

A British airport that scores highly in both these departments has now been crowned best in Europe for the fourth consecutive year.

Inverness Airport, the busiest hub in the Scottish Highland community, was crowned Best Airport Under Two Million Passengers in Europe.

The ranking comes from the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards, which also gave Inverness the title of Airport with the Most Dedicated Staff in Europe. The survey analysed 400 airports across 95 countries.

The travel hub is considered a key hub for business and leisure travel, supporting links to a wide range of destinations across the UK and the rest of Europe.

It also offers competitive prices to several European destinations popular among holidaymakers.

Travellers using the hub can reach European hotspots like Italy and Austria for a mere £96 and £95, respectively.

Graeme Bell, general manager of Inverness Airport, said: “Winning the Best Airport in Europe award for the fourth consecutive year is an extraordinary achievement that reflects the unwavering dedication and tireless efforts of our exceptional team.

“We are profoundly grateful to every member of the tea, our valued concessionaries and our trusted partners for their relentless commitment to excellence.

“This prestigious accolade is a testament to their collective passion and professionalism, which continues to elevate the travel experience for all our passengers.”

Lui Felipe de Oliveira, Director General of ACI World, said: “Flying through Inverness Airport isn’t just a transit; it’s an experience crafted with care.

“Success in the Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Awards underscores Inverness’ ability to make every passenger have a memorable and enjoyable airport journey.”

The award for best large airport for customer service in Europe went to Helsinki, the capital of Finland.

Kimmo Maki, CEO of airport company Finavia, said: “We are extremely grateful for this award and proud that our work for a first-class customer experience is recognised internationally.

“We have succeeded in raising the level of customer satisfaction at Helsinki Airport over the long term, and the ASQ survey result for 2023 is the best in the airport’s history.”

It comes as the end of the 100ml liquid rules will be rolled out at airports across Europe in the coming months, facilitating travel for Britons.
